Foxtel has shark week right ? So why not shark island week !!

On instagram PCCBOARDS will be sharing a different picture of the island doing its thing all week. So check in on the instagram page to check out the shark island action. The first shot is of Fletch Hayler riding a 5 foot 10 twin fin – would you believe it ? This picture of Fletch is very current, taken only last week during the east swell that hit the Sydney coast.

Surfboard Shaping Now

Through digital drawing of the surfboard blank, the surfer is able to watch their feedback incorporated directly into the surfboard design. The process creates a completely accurate foundation for the board that is then machine cut.

Later in the factory shaping room Stuart goes through the refining hand work that is needed for a perfectly finished product.

After many years of shaping with jigs and machines there is a trend emerging for the interest back to complete hand shaping. There is a call for both in the modern world of surfboard construction, we can accommodate both here at pccboards.

There are arguments that have to-ed and fro-ed for decades about what is right or perceived the better way. The question is un answerable, only relative to the desire or situation of the people interested.

In the picture above – taken by Craig Stroe from Southwave.com.au – we can see the process taking place in the nerve centre of the surfboard factory.

9 foot 2 EXCHANGE

This is the latest long board or log surfboard, right up to date at PCC. The shape has evolved with the help of ace rider Jake Bevan’s feedback on performance. We have arrived at a very good place with the Exchange, she rides like a dream on water. This edgy surfboard is fitted with 10 or 12 inch single finbox, coupled with your choice of Alakli, Captain Fin Co, The Salty Merchant fin.

The crazy green colour is the feature on our latest facebook post. If you want a chance to win some cool PCC stuff go to the facebook page and throw in your two bobs worth.

The 7 foot 2 Balance

Held in September 2013, the PCC ‘All By Hand’ surfboard exhibition transformed the PCC surfboard shaping bay into a unique board gallery, displaying 10 hand made pieces of art created by veteran surfboard shaper Stuart Paterson. The surfboards and exhibition represented a revealing and alternate view of a familiar object that many if not all surfers own and love.

The White Tracker surfboard

PCC BOARDS is proud to announce an exhibition of hand shaped, unique surfboards for your eyes and minds. The board pictured on the left, The 7 foot 6″ -TRACKER- is just one of 10 limited edition artworks that will be available on display.

The exhibition named –ALL BY HAND– is being held on Sat the 21st of September @ the PCC factory 34 rear Kareena Rd Miranda.

There will be an opportunity to win one of your choice of these one off products on the day. Also live music, movies, BBQ and beer, maybe even fairy bread !

The opening will start at 2pm – continuing to late afternoon, early evening.
